Helping Build One of Hutto’s Premier Mixed-Use Destinations
John King Construction completed two ground-up retail shell buildings within The Hutto Co-Op, providing nearly 18,300 square feet of flexible commercial space designed to accommodate future restaurant, retail, and service tenants. Thoughtfully designed and strategically located, the buildings helped establish the walkable, mixed-use character that defines the Co-Op District today.
The first project, Hutto Co-Op Building 1B, is a 6,328-square-foot retail shell constructed to support a future restaurant tenant and later became home to Casa Jalisco Sports Bar. The second project, Buildings 3 & 4, added 11,955 square feet of connected shell space designed to accommodate a variety of future businesses while creating an inviting pedestrian experience.
These projects are especially meaningful because they represent repeat work for a trusted client and are part of John King Construction’s extensive involvement throughout the Hutto Co-Op development. In addition to these retail shell buildings, JKC has completed Southside Market & Barbeque, Jack Allen’s Kitchen, the six-story parking garage, and the 71,000-square-foot Class A office building (Building 12)—helping bring the developer’s vision for a vibrant live-work-play destination to life.
From speculative retail shells to restaurants, office space, and structured parking, our continued role throughout the Co-Op reflects the confidence our clients place in our team to deliver quality construction, maintain schedules, and successfully execute multiple projects across a single master-planned development.
